Neighborhood Wars
Pick Downtown, Midtown, Uptown or the Harbor. Every coin you earn at a job counts for your team, and the winning team splits the glory (and 50 coins) every week.
On This Page
Every New Yorker reps a neighborhood. Neighborhood Wars is a friendly weekly competition between four teams. Every coin you earn at a job adds points to your team’s score.
The Teams
| Team | Turf |
|---|---|
| Downtown Slices | SoHo, Chinatown and the Village. Cobblestones, dumplings, dollar slices. |
| Midtown Lights | Times Square, Broadway and Fifth. Big lights, bigger dreams. |
| Uptown Acorns | Central Park and Museum Mile. Squirrels, steps, and serious culture. |
| Harbor Gulls | Battery Park, Lady Liberty and the West Side. Ferries, sunsets, seagulls. |
Joining a Team
After your first paid shift at a job, you’ll be asked to pick a neighborhood. You can also pick one any time from Friends & Leaderboards (F) on the Neighborhoods tab.

Joining gives you a team scarf to wear. Pick carefully: there’s no switching teams once you’ve picked.
Scoring
- Every coin you earn at a job adds a point to your team for the week.
- The Neighborhoods tab shows this week’s standings, how long until the reset, and how many points you’ve added.
- Online, the standings count every real player’s points, plus a baseline from the city locals.
The Weekly Winner
The week resets every Monday. If your team won the week before:
- 50 coins for you, with a note that your team won last week.
If another team won, you’ll see who took it, and the new week starts fresh. You share in a team’s win only for weeks you played in. Keep an eye on the Times Square billboards: they show which team is leading.
