Be a Good Neighbor

Club NYC is for ages 13 and up. A few simple rules keep the city friendly for everyone.

  • Be KindNo bullying, harassment or hate. If someone asks you to leave them alone, do.
  • Keep It PG-13No dating, sexual content, slurs or strong swearing, in chat, names, outfits or notes.
  • Keep It PrivateNever share or ask for real names, addresses, schools, socials or passwords, and don’t move chats to other apps.
  • Play FairNo cheating, bots, exploits or extra accounts. Coins can’t be bought or sold.
  • Be YourselfDon’t pretend to be Club NYC staff, a moderator or another player.

Click any player to Report, Block or Mute them. Breaking the rules can mean a warning, a mute, a suspension or a ban, and serious harm means a permanent ban.

How We Keep the City Friendly

  • Chat is filtered, and links, emails and phone numbers are removed automatically.
  • Moderators review reports along with the recent chat, and a pile of reports pauses someone’s chat right away.
  • Guests don’t give us an email address, and linking an account is optional.
  • No filter is perfect. If something slips through, report it and we’ll act on it.

Come Hang Out on Discord

Questions? We’ve Got Answers

When does Club NYC open?

Soon! We’re putting the finishing touches on the city (and teaching the pigeons some manners). Join the waitlist and we’ll email you the day the doors open.

What happens when I join the waitlist?

We save your email address and may ask you to confirm it with one click. When the city opens, we email you to say so. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we never sell your address. The privacy policy has the details.

What is Club NYC?

A cozy online New York you play in your web browser. You make a New Yorker, explore 20+ places from Times Square to Liberty Island, work silly jobs for coins, decorate your apartment and hang out with real people.

Is Club NYC free?

Yes. It’s free to play and there’s nothing to buy. Coins are earned in the game (from jobs, challenges, stamps and a daily refill) and can’t be bought or sold.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Club NYC runs in your web browser on a computer. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all work.

Can I play on my phone or tablet?

Not yet. The city needs a keyboard and a bigger screen, so it’s made for laptops and desktops. On your phone right now? Tap Send to My Computer and send yourself the link for later.

Do I need an account?

No. Press Play Now and you’re in as a guest. To keep your New Yorker on every device, link Google, X, Discord or your email from your player card any time.

How do I play with my friends?

Open the phone on your toolbar (or press I) to get your invite link. Friends who open it land right next to you, and you’re friends from the start. You can also add anyone you meet: click them, then Add Friend.

What is there to do?

Explore 20+ places, work five jobs for coins, shop for outfits, collect 50 stamps, decorate your apartment, dance at the Dance Jam in Times Square, start flash mobs, throw house parties and take on three new challenges every day.

Will my progress be saved?

Yes. Your New Yorker, coins, wardrobe and apartment are saved to the city. As a guest, your progress lives in this browser until you link an account.

How old do I need to be?

13 or older. When you make your New Yorker we ask for your birth month and year to check, and we don’t keep them. You also agree to our Terms, Privacy Policy and Community Rules.

Is Club NYC safe?

We work hard on it. Chat is filtered, and links, emails and phone numbers are removed automatically. Every player’s card has Report, Block and Mute, and moderators review reports along with the recent chat. Our community rules explain what’s allowed and what happens when rules are broken.

How do I report someone?

Click the player, then Report on their player card, and pick what’s going on. You can also block them, so you won’t see them or their chat anymore.

What information do you collect?

As little as we can. Guests don’t give us an email address. If you join the waitlist or sign in with email, we keep your email address to send you those emails. If you link Google, X or Discord, we get what we need to sign you in. The privacy policy has the details, including how to delete your account or leave the waitlist.

Is the game finished?

Club NYC is in early access: you can play right now, and new places and features land all the time. The Discord gets first looks at what’s coming.
